Let Them Eat Cake

Our munchkin turned ONE!  I can't believe it's been a whole year since our 10-pound baby Christian made his grand entrance.

Here he is celebrating with his Zoe-Zoe.

After 3 kids we're wising up, and Christian received bubble wrap for his birthday, as well as a long paper receipt to whip around the air.

(Lest you feel sorry for Christian, his grandparents gave him some real toys too.)

His birthday celebration stretched out to a few days.  First we took a family trip to Cox Farms. Christian thought the purpose of the hayride was to eat the hay.

John wanted to really launch Christian into his second year.

"Mom, apples are tough with only 4 teeth."

We had a mini birthday party with the Lansings, my brother Tyson, and my parents (although my Dad had to miss some of the fun).  Christian was so honored that they all made the long drive here to party with him!

Theo and Amelia joined my boys at the 27-and-under party table.
Everything went smoothly until my boys decided to turn on the power hose and spray down the table, but the Lansing kids took it in stride.  Bless them.

My brother Tyson made the duck cupcakes for Christian.

He handled the cupcake smash as politely as possible.

For each boy on their 1st birthday, we do an experiment that will determine their future: will they choose the dollar (wealth), the pencil (education), or the string (longevity and health)?  Christian made a good choice and has a bright future awaiting him!

Happy birthday little man!
