John's little brother Mark flew in to visit last week.
...and he brought a GIRL!
After 7.5 years of marriage, John and I are still the newlyweds on both the Babbel and McAllister sides, so we were delighted to meet Mark's girlfriend. Her name is Maggie. We tried so hard to impress her, and we were on our very best behavior for the entire 4 days.
We played Settlers of Catan a few nights, and the nice guys always won (John and Mark).
We took M&M on a trip to Lake Geneva for the fudge and ice cream shop beautiful scenery.
We went on the postal boat tour around Lake Geneva
That is the very agile mailman from our tour. (Notice his life preserver.) He'd jump off the front of the boat (while it was still moving), run down the dock and throw the mail to the mailbox, and then sprint back and leap onto the back of the boat. (He only missed the boat once!) We watched the mailman do about 60 deliveries that day to the enormous mansions around Lake Geneva.
They said they needed to make a phone call
One night we went to the Brewers game. (Or Reds game, depending on who you talk to.) Maggie's family kind of owns the Cincinnati Reds (or 10% of the franchise, or something...) and it was really fun to talk baseball with her, since we both grew up in fanatical baseball families.
Maggie and Mark were brilliant with the boys. Both Cole and Benson have developed crushes on Maggie, and they still talk about her every day.
We took M&M to the Safehouse restaurant. You have to use the spy phone and secret passageway to exit the restaurant into the back alley. Pretty cool.
Mark is an All-American football player, so we (obviously) had to drive to Green Bay to pay homage to Lambeau Stadium.
Here's Mark practicing the Lambeau Leap
A good looking couple! All they need are two cheesehead hats.
We also went to Bay Beach Amusement park in Green Bay (where every ride costs a quarter). Here is Benson facing his fears on the swings.
And we rode the choo-choo train, of course.
Well, M&M are gone now (sadly), and we are exhausted from being on such good behavior. We hope our efforts helped!
