Before you try castor oil...

My boys have a lucky streak of putting women in labor.  I'm investigating the acceptable rate for renting them out to desperate women in their final month of pregnancy.  For our Spring Break, my 40-week pregnant sister Elise requested that we visit them in Pittsburgh, partially to see if my boys could work their magic.  (Her first 4 kids were all induced at 41-42 weeks.)

It kind of felt like we were jumping aboard the Titanic to join them, but we were up to the task!

We did relaxing activities
(Well, relaxing until the kids tried to leap into the pond!)

We ate lots of comfort food, like these delicacies from Peace, Love, Donuts.

The kids played together (reasonably) nicely

We outsourced our duties

And we spent lots of time at different parks.

The boys and I were disappointed after our 3 days had passed, and we needed to get home but there was still no baby.  So we reluctantly packed our bags and loaded up the car.  As we came back into the house to say goodbye to everyone, Elise was sitting in a rocking chair, holding her belly with her eyes squeezed shut.  She promised she was fine, just having a few contractions, and she was sure they'd fade like always.  My mom would arrive later that evening to help, and Elise was scheduled be induced the following Monday.

2 hours after we left, you guessed it, Elise was fully in labor and had to go to the hospital!  She called a neighbor to help (since we were gone and my mom was still hours away), and shortly afterwards her new miracle arrived!

Hot off the press, my beautiful niece, Kirsten Autumn Hahl!

Even though we missed the action by a few hours, it was really fun to help them out during their big week, to try to lighten Elise's load (by cooking, cleaning, and watching all the kids) and of course to help nudge Elise into labor.

Elise sure doesn't look like she's just given birth to her 5th child!
