The Grad

If you hear loud illegal fireworks going off, they're mine.  John's DONE, folks!  Our entire marriage has been spent in school and training, and as of June 30th, John graduated from his opthalmology residency.  It feels surreal to be finally done.

Here are the three amigos, Jon, John and Pat, all graduating from ophthalmology residency!  (And Benson drinking to their honor.)  After working side by side in the trenches for three years, these guys will be friends for life.

The next class had better step it up, if they want to graduate with 5 kids!  (This is the only MCW ophthalmology group to graduate with 5 kids since the dawn of time.)

It took 8 years to get this piece of paper.

John was also presented with the Copeland Award (best research project), and his program director announced that John is the first resident ever to need TWO binders to hold all the unsolicited emails and letters from happy patients.  He's a great doctor and an outstanding guy.

As a graduation present, the residents and fellows all got these deluxe surgical caps.

Either the US Olympic swimming team, or eye surgeons.
