Born in Wisconsin

Benson has recently started putting together 2-word phrases. John and I are always overjoyed whenever Benson does this, but we noticed this morning that most of his phrases are about the same thing. Here's a quick language sample:

"MORE CHEESE."
"CHEESE PLEASE."
"EAT CHEESE."

A trick I learned in my speech pathology coursework is to use something highly motivating to a child in order to expand their speech and language. I guess Benson's high motivator is cheese. You don't need a birth certificate to know that this boy was born in Wisconsin!

Ha!

So you're saying the whole "Say cheese" thing for pictures works really, really well for him? :)

Karisa,

He is getting SO big! It's hard to believe that in a short time my little one is going to be eating cheese and talking! We've entered the realm of self-feeding table foods- scary place- easier on my end, but VERY messy. For some reason, no matter what is going on, everything ends up in the hair (the little bit that she has!).

Are you working right now? (if so where?)
