Here's Benson's first official sign! We've been practicing sign language with him for several months-- we wanted to give him tools to communicate before he knows how to talk-- and we read that his first sign should emerge around 9 months. Almost to the day, he started doing this sign whenever he saw or wanted to play with his favorite toy (a dog puppet).
So if you're ever around him when he starts patting his leg, please reinforce it by giving him a toy dog, acting like a dog, or barking. Thanks!
